Build shelters to habilitate trafficked victims- US Ambassador

us ambasadorThe US Ambassador to Ghana Robert Jackson has called on government to rehabilitate and build new shelters to meet the growing need for trafficked victims.

The spate of trafficking in the country is reportedly increasing despite efforts to eradicate it. Shelter to habilitate rescued children is also woefully inadequate.

According to Mr. Jackson, “Child trafficking is of serious worry to the U.S government and all well-meaning persons and the need to fight to eliminate it completely. The problem now is the monitoring of the law and the prosecution of those culpable”

Authorities have called for more stringent punishment for child trafficking offenders.
